Employee Personality: Practical Implications

By Statistics Solutions Team

Management interested in drivers of employee performance, receptiveness to change, and organizational commitment can look to personality metrics.  For example, extroversion scores are positively related to performance for those who are very conscientious.

Management can use personality measures to identify and predict employee problem areas.  For example, scales can measure how conventional or rule-based an employee may be, or how warm and personable an employee is characteristically.

Employee personality studies can also predict performance and assess an employee’s alignment with management’s strategic goals.
